About Dr. Kristen Buchanan
Kristen brings over 20 years of experience guiding students through the college and career planning process with insight, compassion, patience, and expertise. She holds a Master’s degree in School Counseling from Bridgewater State University and earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Northeastern University, reflecting her deep commitment to student success and educational excellence. Throughout her career, Kristen has helped students navigate the often overwhelming college admissions journey—from identifying best-fit schools to working through the ins and outs of the application process. Her approach is personalized, student-centered, and rooted in a genuine passion for helping young people find their path. Kristen lives in Plymouth with her daughter and their loyal Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. She enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling.

About Erik Walker
Erik has 25 years of experience teaching high school seniors and helping students with college essays and mock interviews. From brainstorming essay topics to helpful discussions that create thoughtful revision, he will ensure your student is confident with their college essay. A veteran ELA teacher and English Department Head, he is a recipient of the New England English Teacher of the Year Award (Ann Garland Award) from the New England Association of Teachers of English and has been named the Adjunct Faculty Member of the Year from Quincy College. He has presented at dozens of academic conferences, including the National Institute for Student Centered Education and the National AP (Advanced Placement) Conference and is the recipient of more than a dozen grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities. He currently is the English Department Head and teaches AP English Language & Composition, AP English Literature & Composition, and Journalism/Media Studies at Plymouth South High School. He lives in Plymouth with his wife, two children, and two cats.
